About Me
Hello! I am Paloma Mestas and am the current 8th grade teacher at Monte Vista Middle School. I am originally from Taos New Mexico but have lived in the valley for the past thirteen years. I am married and have two young children who take up most of my free time. Rohni, my oldest is eight years old and going into 3rd grade. She is very excited for school and has a huge personality which shows her kindness and love . My son, Cruz, is four and currently attending preschool. He loves spaghetti, watching "Finding Nemo", and terrorizing his older sister. My husband, Jason, is a farmer where he grows a big assortment of vegetables and delivers to Northern New Mexico and in the San Luis Valley.
When I am not busy at school or a full time farmer, I love to be in the outdoors camping, hiking, riding ATV's, listening to music, and reading. When it comes to being happy I believe I need to surround myself with family, friends, and an amazing staff, which I am lucky enough to have here at MVMS. I am excited to be starting my third year at MVMS and preparing these students for the future and impacting their learning experience.
If there is any question, concern, or you just want to say hello, please contact me via email or phone. Thanks for being a continuous supportive community for your students and for us as educators.
