I’m a Colorado native from Grand Junction and earned my degree at CSU where I started my career as an Employment Specialist for high risk youth in Fort Collins. In 1985 I became a fishmonger's wife and moved to Mecca, CA for the adventures of life on a desert fish farm of all things. While there, I continued my career counseling work in the Coachella Valley at a local vocational school; this led me to follow the path towards teaching. Missing the four seasons, we returned to CO and settled in Golden where I taught middle school at Gilpin K-12 above Blackhawk and my husband raised and sold fish in Denver. Seeking the rural life, we moved to Alamosa 1992 where I took a few years off to be home with my two kids, Jed and Emma. My first job in the Valley was with MVSD working part-time as the School to Career Grant Coordinator. I have since spent 20 great years as a History and ELA teacher at Moffat K-12. I am delighted to be at MVMS where I can continue to share my love of history specifically with middle school students!
In our free time my family likes to fish, camp, spend time together, and travel (especially to historic locations)! I also love books and the fun challenge of learning new things!
